We also cover attempted theft, where the frame, the lock or parts are damaged, and vandalism by others.
For theft the deductible is 10% of the payout, and at least 1,500 kr. The bike must be locked with a Varefakta-approved lock, and locked to something fixed when it is left outside.
Accidents and crashes.
Sudden damage from the outside is covered.
Crashes, collisions and damage that happens in transit - including while the bike is on the rack behind the car.
No deductible. We repair it, or replace it if the damage is too great.
E-bike and battery.
The battery and charger are covered on the same terms as the rest of the bike.
That means sudden damage from the outside - not wear and tear, or a battery losing capacity over time.
Remember to take the battery with you when you park the e-bike, unless it is built into the frame.

Let's make it clear, and otherwise just give us a call.
A bike or e-bike worth 10,000 kr. comes to around 50 kr. a month, one worth 20,000 kr. to around 100 kr. Cargo bikes sit a little higher.
The first month is free, and there is no lock-in.
Anywhere other than inside your own home, your own locked basement room, shed or garage, it must also be locked through the frame to something fixed - a lamppost or a bolted-down bike rack. That includes shared bike basements.
If the bike cost 25,000 kr. or more, two independent Varefakta-approved locks are required.
For theft the deductible is 10% of the payout, and at least 1,500 kr. Every other kind of damage - crashes, vandalism, fire, battery - carries no deductible.
The payout is capped at 25,000 kr. for an ordinary bike, 40,000 kr. for an e-bike and 75,000 kr. for a cargo bike.
After that the payout drops by 20% of the sum insured for each year begun, to a maximum of 80% in total.
We repair the bike or supply an equivalent one. We only pay out in cash where that isn't possible.
Loose equipment is not covered. That means panniers, child seats, water bottles, pumps, helmets and cycling clothes.
Outside Denmark you may use a lock of equivalent documented quality instead of a Varefakta-approved one.
Damage that happens during commercial courier work or in timed competition, and damage following tuning of an e-bike motor.
The bike is also not covered while it is on loan to someone outside your household.
